I’m Cass

I am out chasing cows, riding good horses, and wrangling my little cow kid with a camera in my hand. I do not photograph this life from the outside looking in. I live it.

The dust. The early mornings. The long days that do not quit when the sun goes down. That is the life I know. That is the life I document.

Behind the brand

I began photographing under our livestock brand, the Flying AJ, as a way to share our family’s story. What started as documenting ranch life grew into preserving a way of life that deserves to be remembered.

The original AJ brand belonged to a distant relative of my husband’s, a buckaroo in Paulina through the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. We added the wings and now run our ranch under that same mark.

A brand is not just iron on hide.

It is history.

It is responsibility.

It is pride.

That belief shapes how I photograph both ranch families and western businesses.
